LED LIGHTING

led lighting before and after

Changing from Halogen lighting to LED lighting is easy and can save in the long term.

Over the weekend I did an upgrade on my outdoor low voltage lighting system to LED lighting. For those of you who like doing your own light repairs, this is for you! We moved into our current home where someone else installed the backyard landscape lighting. The 13 uplights were all on one wire. Thus, the voltage to the lights ran between 6.75 -9.0 volts instead of the minimum of 11 volts needed. You guess it.. all the lights were dim, not putting out much light on the trees/plants. So i could run new wires to the lights, breaking them down into three circuits to fix the problem. That would mean running new wire from the transformer and digging it all in, or I could install LED replacement bulbs.

You see, the LED bulbs have built in voltage regulators letting them all draw the same voltage at each bulb.
What to do?
I did the math on buying 700 feet of 12-2 low voltage landscape wire, waterproof wires, nuts at $392.00 in parts, and about 5 hours of labor. OR……
I could buy 13 LED 4.0 watt MR-16 bulbs at 38.75 each and be done in 30 minutes! I chose to be done in 30 minutes, spending $504.00 on parts.
I ordered the bulbs which have a 5 yr warranty, yes a 5 YR WARRANTY!! That sold me from the start.
The replacement bulbs go into the lights just like the standard one. I had them installed in 25 minutes using only a Phillips screw driver and then turned them on making sure I did the job correct. Then I waited for dark. I reset the timer for them to come on at 5PM.
They looked better than I expected! Bright and 4 times the light than before! You can do this! Contact me for any help you may need.
