Run Time on the Rain Bird ESP-Me Troubleshoot

Why is my Rain Bird ESP-Me sprinkler timer watering double the amount of time that I set on the stations? Example: I set it for 10 minutes per station but it is watering for 20 minutes per station instead.

There are 2 reasons this could happen.

  • The run time duration on one or all your stations is incorrect.
    or
  • The seasonal adjust setting is wrong.

To correct these settings follow the steps below:

Reason #1: The run time duration on one or all your stations is incorrect.

Step 1

Turn the dial “Set Station Run Times”.

Step 2
Check the duration on all the stations by pressing the Right arrow button to advance through all the stations. You may find one that is programmed to exceed the time you wanted to water.

Step 3
You can change the run time on the station by pressing the – button to decrease.

Step 4
Repeat steps 2 & 3 only if the stations are exceeding the time to water.

Reason #2: The seasonal adjust is setting wrong.

Step 1
Turn your dial to Seasonal Adjust.

Seasonal adjust needs to be set at 100%, but in the example below it is at 5%.

Step 2
Press the Plus or Minus buttons until you get to 100%.
